logo.gif is a research commission for artists making mobile phone art. The organization started early on in 2002 as a series of questions. Would artists be interested in making ‘commercial’ content, namely, really small pieces of art that could be sold to mobile phone users? If so, would the commercial distribution aspect affect the type of work they created? Equally, would typical ringtone/logo consumers be interested in purchasing innovative, artist designed content? What sort of content would be most popular, and why?
