Like Adobe writes; “Flash Lite enables a more complete web experience on mobile devices by providing access to content and video created with Adobe Flash”. There must be a whole lot of art made by this program. Please if you know of any, send them to us at info [info #AT#].

I spend so much time in the traffic and thinking of traffic scenarios that when I think about my fast/slow scapes series, they (the movies I produce) seem unavoidable to me.

Always recorded from inside a vehicle (cars, taxis, boats, trains and buses), in movement, with different cell phone models, they are a set of unusual frames and points of view, particular to the ongoing nomadic status, that seems enclosed, as if they were “stills on the move”, disconnected and artificially realigned (although they are not).

A diary of images shot in São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Berlin, New York and in Greece it records some of my mediatic and nomadic experiences in mobile spaces scrutinized by the third cyborg eye of the mobile camera.

At the ‘Art in mobile’-show in Art Gallery Galerie de Meerse the project 15×15 is presented. A homage to Andy Warhol, a realization of the artistic utilization of new media technology and democratization of art in the age of digital production. The project is developed by Richard Vickers, Oliver Dore, Greg Brant, the Hull School of Art & Design and the University of Lincoln.

You can become famous using your standard mobile camera phone and send video clips using MMS to +44 (0)79 68 57 30 84. Your clip will be shown for 15 seconds randomly on a screen together with 14 other clips (hence the name 15×15).

At the moment, Dallas Contemporary exhibits a project called realtime:08. And guess what? This show asks the question; ‘what kind of art do you make in 15 seconds on a mobile phone?’ The show is curated by Dean Terry and John Pomara. The artists participating are:

* Inter.sect art collective
* Kirsten Macy
* Doreen Maloney
* Marjorie & Ludwig Schwarz
* Leslie Sharpe
* Bart Weiss

Recitation is a film by Kevin Logan about adolescence and coming of age. It’s an audiovisual piece examining spoken word/ oral traditions and their relationship with text based information and belief systems, in particular religious texts. Inspired by Jarmain Patrick’s recited poem ‘Terror-isn’t’

Be famous

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

15x15bafta.jpgIn 1968 Andy Warhol stated that; ‘In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes’. Considering the mass popularity of reality TV shows such as Big Brother & The X Factor, and the ability to publish your own video content via media sharing sites such as YouTube; Warhol’s statement seems more pertinent today than ever.

Using Warhol’s statement as a premise, 15×15 advances the statement into the 21 st century: Utilising new media technologies; the web and mobile cameraphones, 15×15 offers the opportunity for anyone, anywhere, to be world famous……. for 15 seconds.

Anyone can contribute to the piece using a standard mobile camera phone that can capture video, and can send video clips directly from the camera phone using MMS (Multimedia Message Service) to +44 (0) 7968 573084, via email to me@15× or upload from a personal computer to the online database www.15× For more info check www.15×
